Latino Climate Action Network (aka, Enlace Latino de Accion Climatica) is another sustainability initiative of the community-based organization El Puente. The goal of the Latino Climate Action Network is to empower Hispanic leaders on climate change issues, so they can become part of the conversation and eventual solution of this ecological and social problem. By educating our leaders and disseminating the studies performed by the scientific community, this initiative will generate an interest for the development of policy measures that would promote environmentally friendly actions and the use of green technologies. The Latino Climate Action Network is composed of key leaders from the Puerto Rico Climate Change Council, the religious, environmental and academia community.
This Network discuss the effects of climate change to Puerto Rico based on the results obtained from a series of monitoring studies performed by the Puerto Rico Climate Change Council (PRCCC). This effort will be integrated with the PRCCC Working Group 4’s efforts in communicating climate change and coastal hazards.
